Over the years I have carried different variations of equipment in many different bags. I’ll undoubtedly continue to evolve in what I carry into the field, but for now, I have things pretty well situated for my needs. Currently, I prefer the use of a DSLR in the field for several different reasons, and I’m on my 4th Canon DSLR which is the monster EOS 5DS R.
More importantly, the lenses that I carry with this camera give me wide range of focal lengths which allows me to capture my vision in very specific ways. In my bag I have access to between 14mm and 400mm giving me the ability to pinpoint areas of interest as well as include more than the eye can see at once. What you don’t see is constant updating of this kit because it works so well as it has for the last decade. Lenses are kind of a forever purchase and worth the investment while the camera bodies will come and go much more frequently.
